Do I have to use a desktop PC as a platform for wireless networked computers, or laptop could work for this?

Currently use a desktop PC with a wireless card as the center for laptops for my children. The office is at the end of the breath and should be "withdrawn". Should I replace it with another office or another laptop can do the job? I think there should be a desktop computer, and I always have a computer connected the modem … Thanks for the tips! :-)

I know it's expensive, but you could buy a wireless router modem. It proved a good value, especially if you have several laptops at home. If you decide to take another desktop more ahead on the track, you can connect to this unit as well and still works well.
